This post is all about meals that are great for Lent when you needs meatless meals to feed yourself and your family. You’ll find a variety of recipes that are sure to please any seafood lover’s taste buds!

What does Lent Friendly Recipes Mean?
There are many religious specs that practice a form of Lent throughout the world, and our family does so as we are Orthodox Christians so we celebrate Great Lent each year on our journey to Pascha.
It is a beautiful time of many church services, prayers, and preparing ourselves for Pascha, when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
During this Lenton season, many believers such as our family, abstain from food items such as meats, olive oil, and dairy.
n this blog post, I’m sharing some of my family’s favorite shrimp and fish recipes that are great for Lent, Nativity, and other fasting periods throughout the year.
Some recipes included in this post will have oils like coconut oil and avocado oils, but you can choose to leave those out if you are avoiding oils altogether.
Also, for sauteeing and sauces you can skip the oils together and use a little veggie broth in the pan instead. This will add flavor as well as keep your food from sticking or burning in the pan if you are worried about that.
Most of these recipes will be gluten-free and some even lower in carbohydrates because our family chooses to eat that way sometimes.
So feel free to substitute your favorite type of paste into recipes that may use things like the heart of palm pasta.

With all things fasting and following fasting rules are highly personal and something each of us needs to work out with ourselves.
During times like Lent our main focus should be on prayer, attending services, and giving to those in need, so please focus on those and don’t overstress on fasting.
I highly recommend if you have any questions on fasting rules or questions on Lent and observing please seek out the wisdom of your spiritual father for they will be the only ones you should seek that kind of wisdom from on these things.
Seafood Recipes for Great Lent
This is a list of recipes containing seafood that will make a delicious meal during Great Lent. Some recipes will contain oils such as avocado or coconut oil and possibly olive oil for oil days. If you need to remove them try subbing in veggies broth for sauteeing.
