About This Book
Reset your spiritual and emotional health with these steps.
More for Mom will encourage women to stop believing the lie that more is needed from them, and start living with the truth that more is available for them.
With real-life talk, humor and convicting biblical truths, Kristin Funston helps hard-working mamas to look at each day and each facet of their life to discover what happens when they believe God has more for them than what they think the world needs from them.
And what He has available is a whole and holy life, just waiting to be claimed–salvation and day-to-day reality complete just as it is. The pieces of each mom’s life–the work life, mom life, social life, etc.–are mended together through Christ to complete her one whole life, set apart because of Him.
This book is a stepping stone to help working mothers reset their spiritual and emotional health, habits, and relationship with God. There are performance pressures at work, home, and mind-sets that affect a mom’s ability to feel complete and live more closely aligned with God. This book includes the beginning steps for moms to walk in wholeness and holiness by asking God for more.
My Person Thoughts and Review
In this new book by Kristin Funston, More for Mom, there are lots of practical steps or us to use as we learn how to listen as we seek God in our lives. Funston offers her encouraging words as she speaks bluntly and openly with us about motherhood and matters we face daily. As we read through the chapters, which flow so nicely in my opinion, she works to show us as moms how we can work to live a whole and more importantly a holy life.
This book will encourage you to think about how you can apply scripture to everyday decisions in life. I love the way Kristin infuses biblical wisdom throughout the pages and offers scriptures to back up her thoughts on this subject. I also enjoyed how reading her book felt like I was talking to an old friend that I shared so much in common with. She is such a relatable person and that always makes these types of books so much more enjoyable to me.
As moms, or soon to be moms, we can often find ourselves stretched too thin and exhausted. We seek different ways to refresh ourselves or the next new thing that will renew that joy and energy we are lacking. I think my most favorite part of this book is that Kristin tries to drive the point across to us over and over that the rest and renewal we are seeking and NEEDING can only found in the love and relationship with Christ.
So, my friends, I would say if you enjoy reading books from authors that are relatable, speak openly about real life, and share it all with a little humor mixed in then this book is the one for you!! I really am glad I was able to read this book!! It’s uplifting and just perfect for all of us busy life moms that are needing more out of our daily grind.
Kristin’s words in these chapters will not only make you laugh, but they will also inspire you to start living your life in a whole and holy way!
