In the low carb and gluten-free space, there are a lot of products out there that can help us enjoy our favorite types of snacks, like crackers, but still, keep us within the healthy eating guidelines we’ve set for ourselves.

Low Carb & Gluten-Free Cheddar and Everything Crackers
In this blog post and video below we’ll share about two different brands of low-carb crackers. We will cover which one tastes best in our opinions and which ones have the best nutritional values and macros for those interested.

We are on a journey to lose weight and get healthier so we like to share low carb and gluten-free products we find along the way. So be sure to subscribe to our channel if you would like to see more product reviews as we put them out.
Since not all of us like to order online products we’ve chosen to compare one brand from a grocery store and one that has to be ordered online. This way we have the best of both worlds and you can decide which of the two you’d like to try.
For this comparison and taste test, we stuck to two flavors, Cheddar and Everything Bagel, because these two flavors are available in both the Adli store brand crackers as well as the Trim Healthy Mama Brand.
Both cracker brands state they are low carb, gluten-free, and made from real cheddar. One brand as we’ll see as we break each brand down is also Non-GMO and has no unwanted fillers while the second brand does can not say this.
Aldi Brand Cracker: Everything & Cheddar
I’ve seen these two flavors of crackers at both my local Aldi stores for at least a year or more now and have wanted to try them. So I was excited to grab these and give them a try and share them here.
I do which they had more flavors to choose from like maybe a plain or neutral-flavored one for those times you just want something to use in dips.
But even though I’ve only seen these two flavors maybe if they are successful products for Aldi maybe they will branch out over time and come out with more flavors to choose from.
Now, let’s get into the important information you’re hearing for ingredients and taste! On the Aldi Brand, the recipes are very similar for both flavors. They even both have cheddar listed even though one is the Everything flavor.
Ingredients of Aldi Brand Cheddar Cracker:
Almond Flour, Cheddar Cheese (Pasteurized Milk, Cheese Culture, Salt, Enzymes, Annatto (Vegetable Color), Tapioca Starch, Dried Egg Whites, Sea Salt, Garlic Powder. May Also Contain: Egg, Milk, Almonds, Coconut, other tree nuts, and peanuts.
Nutritional Information on Aldi Cheddar Crackers (per serving):
Serving Size: about 9 pieces, Calories 170, Total Fat 14 g, Cholesterol 10 mg, Sodium 170 mg, Total Carbs 6 g, Fiber 2 g, Total Sugars 1 g, Protein 7 g.
Likes and Dislikes of The Aldi Brand Crackers:
As a far taste goes on both flavors, we all enjoyed the crackers, but my 13-year-old actually declared the Aldi brand his winner after tasting both brands.
In my opinion, these were good but honestly, they are just like any basic almond flour cracker I’ve tried. The almond flour, not in a bad way mind you, is the most dominant flavor you taste in both Everything and the Cheddar.
Of course in the Cheddar, you’ll get that cheesy flavor come in as well. Both crackers are pretty mild in flavor so they would be good with any meat and cheese tray or dips that you may want to serve them with. I do like that they use real cheddar and not artificial flavorings for the cheddar flavor.
My Likes of The Aldi Brand
With this brand, I really like how they are easy to pick up on the run to the grocery store (if you have an Aldi in your area that is) and that their price point is usually around 2.99 plus tax. So no ordering and no shipping added to that.
As far as value that you get for the money, well that price is for a 4-ounce bag which breaks down to about .74 cents a bag. So that isn’t a huge steal of a price.
I’ll let you decide if the price is worth it since we all need to gauge what is and isn’t in our budgets and what products are worth the spend. To me, it is a good find in a pinch and for my 13-year-old instead of wheat crackers.
Dislikes of the Aldi Brand
There is mainly one thing about these crackers for me that I don’t like and that would be the fillers such as tapioca starch. It isn’t something I like to use a lot of in our diets but it is rather low on the ingredient list so it isn’t the main ingredient. Also, the Aldi brand does not state that they are Non-GMO
I’d say I’d pick these up again despite that starch if I were needing crackers quickly and I knew these would keep me from eating the traditional crackers that are way worse for us.
Overall, we liked both flavors but the cheddar was our favorite from this brand. But were they better than the Trim Healthy Mama Brand?
Trim Healthy Mama Brand Cracker: Everything Awesome & Easy Cheesy Flavor
This is a brand that must be ordered via their website online unless you are lucky enough to live close to their small store and cafe in the Memphis area. I’m about 4 hours away but hope to visit the store one day soon.
There is no secret that I love their other products and use them often in my daily lifestyle. I’m sure you’ve seen me use them here on the blog for many recipes and I talk about them often on my YouTube Channel.
In fact, I love their products so much that I became an affiliate because I highly recommend their product. They are great for low-carb, keto, and THM lifestyles.
I love that they source all clean and high-quality ingredients for their products. That can be reflected in the price of some of their product but for me, the clean qualities are worth it to me for of their products.
When it comes to these crackers, this was my first time ordering them although they had been out for quite a while. I’m glad I did because, in the end, this brand won the battle for me.

Likes and Dislikes of Trim Healthy Mama Shameless Crackers:
As a far taste goes on both flavors from Trim Healthy Mama, my husband and I loved them. To us, the flavors of this brand were definitely more pronounced and discernable.
As far as my teenager, remember the one that preferred the Aldi Brand, yeah he also had no problem finishing these bags all a couple of days after this taste test.
My Likes For Trim Healthy Mama Brand
In my opinion, these crackers were better in flavor and in the ingredients. As you can see from the ingredients they don’t have the fillers like the tapioca starch that is in the other brand and they also state they are Non-GMO and have no Inulin (a dietary fiber often found in low carb products that may cause stomach troubles).
These crackers are much smaller as you will see in the picture than the Aldi crackers. I actually like that because it made the crackers light and crisp which I enjoyed more than the thicker crackers.
I also like that the THM BRAND has 6 flavors to choose from in the store. They have these Easy Cheesy ones that are mild, then they have Cheesy Kick that has a medium heat to them, next there is the Firecracker which is spicy, a plain flavor they call Classic Topper, and then, of course, the second one you see here the Everything Awesome.
Of all the four crackers my absolute favorite was the THM brand of Everythings Awesome, which is the crackers flavored with the Everything Bagel Seasoning. Yum
I also like that for a serving you get about 25 or so pieces for fewer calories, fat, and carbs than the Aldi brand. Remember you only get 9 of the thicker Aldi crackers for 4 net carbs.
The Trim Healthy Mama crackers only have 1 to 2 net carbs per serving which work better for me and my snacking preferences.
Some Dislikes of the THM Brand Crackers
There are a couple of things that I disliked about the crackers under this brand and the main one was that they are a little more broken up in the package.
I’m sure this is from shipping and the fact that thin nature of the cracker that I loved so much. Not to say that there weren’t any broken bones in the Aldi Brand because there were, just more so in this brand.
The second dislike would be that they must be ordered online, or really it is mainly the price plus shipping that I am not in love with lol. These crackers are 4.29 for a bag that is 3.3 ounces. Making them about $1.30 per ounce.
Then tack on the shipping and that goes up even more. I’m not complaining because I know the sourcing, packaging, and storing of these healthy crackers cost the company money that they have to recap, but I just wanted to be up front and share the dislikes just as I did the Aldi brand. Again the value of these crackers will depend on what you deem worthy of your budget.
I order from the Trim Healthy Mama Store often so I’ll definitely be ordering more of these crackers again when I’m ordering the other things that I use from them. I love their sweeteners and whey proteins so buying in bulk when you do order will make the shipping rates more reasonable.

I tried to find a web link for the Aldi brand crackers to link to for more information but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find one so you’ll have to look them over the next time you’re in Aldi shopping.
