The Great Chattanooga Bicycle Race was fun and captivating read. From the moment I started the first pages, I was instantly hooked. Anna is young and spirited with dreams of furthering her education and hopes to have the freedom to enjoy her favorite new pastime: cycling.
As she struggled with finding her way and standing up for her right to ride she encounters people in her community that are not what they seem and they are will do extreme things in order to put her in her proverbial place as a young woman. Determined to change their minds and stand her ground she forges ahead and I, of course, found myself cheering her on!
This was my first time reading any of Mike Mizrahi’s writings, so I wasn’t sure about his writing style or how I would like it, but the story and chapters flowed nicely making it a very easy read. The story held my attention the whole time and I think he did an amazing job with his characters. Once I started it didn’t take me long to finish it, so I definitely look forward to reading more from this author.
If you like historical fiction work and are looking for your next book to read I would highly suggest this one. I can’t wait to see what comes next from Mike Mizrahi.
