Here are some Tips For Baking Perfect Pies
- If making your own crusts: cold dough equals flaky crust. I could have started with “Make Your Own Pie Crust” and I do feel that’s important but if you need to purchase one then by all means please do so.
- Where you want your crust’s ingredients to be cold or chilled you will want the opposite for your filling ingredients. Let them all come to room temp before you mix up your filling. Everything will mix up much better when not super cold.
- Don’t be skimpy with your fillings you want to fill each pie shell generously. To prevent the filling from spilling out in your oven place the pie on a cooking sheet. 3 – Bake on the low rack. …
- Hold down your pre-baked crusts if using them with some pie weights. You don’t need those pretty or fancy pie weights. Please some parchment paper in your crust and pour some dry beans into the pie crust. Tada easy and free pie weights.
- Hold off on slicing your pie until is completely cooled and has set for a few hours. This pie and most will slice so much prettier if left to cool off and set properly.
