Recipe and DYI Gift All in One Post!
One of my favorite things to do during any holiday is to give treats and handmade gifts to my friends and loved ones. I also love being on the receiving end of these types of gifts as well. It makes me feel like they cared enough about me to plan ahead and make something especially for me.
So I thought I’d share a different type of post with you all today and show you what I do a lot of the times for my husband and son’s birthday and of course Valentine’s Day. Typically we get each other special treats and candies that each of us like and since we all follow the Keto and THM lifestyles sugar filled treats are out and healthier candies are a must.
What better way to make sure the candies are healthier than to make them yourself? This way you know exactly what is in your candies, in this case, truffles, and there is no undesirable ingredients. So today I’m going to walk you through how to make your very own DIY KETO & THM TRUFFLE GIFT BOXES.
What is Needed To Craft A Keto & THM Truffle Gift Box?
When it comes to crafting I’m no Martha Stewart that’s for sure, but I can manage these cute little gifts with the help of some adorable boxes and fillers found at the Dollar General and Dollar Tree.
Of course you can find some amazing craft items at Hobby Lobby also, but I love that you can find so many cute things for super low prices at the dollar stores. There’s no rule that gifts have to be expensive when they are from the heart.
Besides, the ingredients for Keto and Trim Health Mama truffles themselves can take some time to make and can be more expensive than normal sugary ingredients from time to time so why not save money where you can, right?
Here’s What You’ll Need for the Craft Box:
- Cute Decorated Boxes with Lids
- Decorated Bags
- Mini Cupcake Wrappers
- Colorful Paper Stuffing or Tissue Paper
- Ribbon, optional
- Four of Five Truffles of Choice (See further down for recipes!)
You don’t have to be a super crafter to make some nice and thoughtful gifts for those you love. I’ll walk you through making these Truffle Boxes and then be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post past the craft section for 5 delicious Keto & THM Truffle Recipes!
Step 1: Choose Your Boxes and Craft Supplies
This first step is gathering a few super cute boxes with lids, paper shavings or confetti for fillers, and possible some bags like the “Be Mine” bag you see here. I got this all from my local Dollar General and the best part is that they were only $1 each! How awesome is that?
The only thing not pictured here are the white mini cupcakes wrappers that I also got for a dollar at my local Walmart Store. I got them there because they were the one thing that was less expensive than they were at the Dollar General.
If you don’t want to purchases the themed boxes or say you can’t find them at your stores, you can always pick up some of the stuffing and the little clear treat bags you can find in the party supply section and use those to give the truffles in.
You can see in this next picture that I used those and then I used the Be Mine Bag to gift it in. So super cute, right? See, you don’t have to be super crafty to makes these fun gifts!
Step 2: Prepare You Box
Step two is just taking the cute gift bags or boxes and getting them ready to fill with all the cute paper shavings. I like to fill mine with this affordable paper shavings that I find in different colors that match the colors of the bags or boxes.
I find my fillers on the party supply aisle and again they usually around one dollar per bag. Depending on how many gifts you are making you may only need one unless you want to mix the colors like I do. If you don’t find the paper fillers you can always pick up some of the inexpensive tissue paper and stuff the boxes that way too.
Either way they will be adorable and so simple to make. Here’s a look at mine after I have filled them with the pink, white, and red paper fillers.
Step 3: Arranging THE Keto & THM Truffles into Your Gift Boxes
The last step will be filling your beautiful little gift boxes with yummy candies or truffles. I like to use little paper cups to put my candies and truffles in so I find that the mini cupcake wrappers work amazing for this.
You can find these mini wrappers in a wide variety of colors in most local grocery stores and sometimes you can find holiday themed ones like Valentines, Christmas, or Birthday ones that you may want to use for added color.
I chose to just go with the simple mini white wrappers that I found at my local Walmart on the baking aisle. They worked perfectly with my Valentine’s Day them I’m using here.
When you are ready to place the truffles into your gift boxes place a variety of truffles into the mini cupcake wrappers and arrange them in your boxes. This is such a simple step so feel free to arrange the candies in any fashion or pattern that you think looks good.
I like to add a couple of each of the flavors that I make as you can see in the box below. After adding the truffles to your gift boxes or bags you’ll need to deliver them pretty fast so they stay nice and fresh and beautiful. So I recommend leaving your truffles in the refrigerator until you are ready to fill you gift box and deliver to your loved ones for best results.
