In “Chasing Famous” the author does a wonderful job reminding us that it is for God’s glory that we live our daily lives, not for the fame and fortune of our own doings. Within the pages, she expresses how important it is that we remember that we were created to “make God famous”.
I totally agree with Lisa’s state that she includes in the book “of course God doesn’t need us to make him famous” but I also agree with her that we are here on earth to live our lives out as a testament to his power and majesty.
A lot of times we as mom’s struggle with trying to please everyone around us and comparing ourselves to those other moms around us. We lose focus on who we really should be pleasing trying to please when we are constantly rushing around and working to make everyone around us either like us or “applaud us”. How crazy is it that we find ourselves “auditioning” for those people around us when we should only seek His applause? Why is that so hard remember?
We may not want to admit how often this can happen to us, but honestly, I can tell you that I definitely felt conviction on this one you guys. That is truly what is important and I am grateful for this reminder to keep seeking to make God famous through my life. This book really did give just that push I needed to get back to what matters most. I highly encourage you to pick up a copy soon!
