Fathead dough is a low-carb, gluten-free dough used to make a number of low-carb dishes. It is typically used in low-carb pizzas and even some desserts. It is made with a non-wheat flour such as almond flour and mozzarella cheese.
It it a tasty and versatile dough that is typically used in low-carb bread products, however the sky’s the limit with your imagination of what you can do with this dough! It is generally higher in fat and protein content.
History
As we recall a youtuber named Kent Altema in 2010 with the courtesy of Jennifer Eloff shared a pizza dough recipe. This is what we believe is an older version of fathead dough. Many low-carb recipe bloggers have made their own versions, however it is quite similar. The video still exists and you can actually still watch it. In fact, here it is!
